This unique piece called “Agua” simply means “water” in Spanish. Is a two-layer painting of culture rooted in the essence of water. The density of acrylic paint gives a fluid movement to the splash of water on top of the four-colour pattern. That colourful pattern is unique to the indigenous people of Aguacatán, my town and municipality in the Guatemalan department of Huehuetenango.
